Aradhana Agarwal (Category-Poem) (Exam| Certificate of Excellence)

Exam
“She has again come with flying colours,”  people crazily praise her,
Amidst applauds, wishes and cheers, she silently imbibes the atmosphere.
She recalls,
The same set of people who earlier
threw stones of sympathy,
While watching her helpless, lying on a hospital bed as amputee.
“So sad! Your life is completely ruined now, learn to live quietly,
No more mountaineering, adventurous sports,” she heard them patiently.
Destiny set a tough paper for her life’s exam and she had to face,
No hope, or false assurance, or magic could make her to touch rough surface.
Wheelchair, clutch and helping hands of others were needed to move,
She readily accepted, her broken inner strength was never to improve.
Her condition was beyond any repair, prosthetic leg was the only option,
She gazed at showcase where are kept certificates of appreciation.
Enough to self pity, she shrugs her off and walks out with false leg,
Bruises , wounds, failures, sarcastic comments boost her courage.
The day has come, she achieves what none dare to dream ever,
She successfully scales the Everest and paves the path for other.
