SONG FOR UNSUNG HEROES
“UNREVEALED THOUGHTS OF HEARSE DRIVER”
How he lived and how he died,
How he swam against life‘s tides,
Did he spend his life dignified,
Or he wallowed in extremity of pride.
Neither I ask such questions,
Nor I am concerned with his religion,
I surely know the direction,
To take him to final destination.
Different lives meet same end,
Passing through crossroads and bends,
No time left to comprehend and mend,
His journey ends with no amends.
If life is a river, death is the sea,
Towards that sea all have to flee,
Some guys leave imprints,
In hearts their foot prints.
They hire pilots to navigate jets,
Uniformed chauffeurs, they afford to get,
When soul separates from body and leave,
Their bodies, only I am here to receive.
Only death grants equality,
Treating all sans animosity,
I keep philosophies buried in chest,
When their bodies my hearse carried.
Summer, winter or rainy days,
Lives end with same pace,
My days are always busy,
As I drive hearse through the city.
