It was a beautiful evening . The whole city was still decorated with lights even though the festival was over.I was travelling by a cab to attend my friend Smith’s birthday bash in a farmhouse in the outskirts of Timba, around two hours from where I lived.Carefully holding the bouquet lest it should get withered I was enjoying the scene from my window as the car sped on the expressway overtaking many.The cabbie struck a conversation with me.He was a frail looking man with mysterious looks.He started describing every building we crossed, its history and how it got its name.It was getting foggy and darker as we travelled and soon a drizzle began.The wiper of the cab with its rhythmic sound was making the travel a little creepy.
The driver started music on his radio to keep up the chirpyness but my mind was restless.I wanted to reach my friend as soon as possible. Suddenly the car started swaying only to stop suddenly with a screech..
It’s the tyre… sighed the driver…
Sir..we would have to seek help as I dont have the necessary equipment…
The drizzle was almost gone and so we both got out of the car and started looking for help..
“There…that…”
he pointed to a house..at the end of the street….
As we started to move…

There was a big scream.. ..and something hit my face…All I could see was many skeletons walking , running, laughing and even talking…

I started losing my senses …my heart raced..but I couldnt shout…
I ..I …had lost my voice…

The cabbie ……
where was he?…
.And I saw him….
as the same skeleton…smiling at me…saying…
“Welcome to the haunted house….”
Many skeletons walked towards me…with flowers..sweets…and drinks…
I was…..perspiring …gasping but not able to speak a word ……
And..
Suddenly ….
All lights were lit…
And someone called me…”Hey William!!! This is Smith….”
And all others came out laughing…
“Happy Haloween….
Welcome to Smith’s Birthday Bash…”
I just fainted…..
And…
Am writing this from the hospital…
