In summer, i seek mountains
And in winter, want the woods
My mother asked if I would ever “settle down”
I told her I didn’t think I ever could.
But then, I met you
And suddenly I no longer needed to so actively explore
Becoming quite content
In places that I loathed before.
It’s like you’ve brought the mountains
And the woods to me, in one
In addition, you’ve bought the desert
and the tepid Spanish sun.
And whilst I still have the desire to travel through
Every continent, each sea
I now feel like I belong here
Solitude now resides in me.
