Teary eyes, no matter whose
Melt my heart, no matter what
I shed tears with teary-eyed laughers
And cry with those in distress too
That was when I was younger
I am half a century old now
I know there’s either little
Or too much in the teary eyes
Spare me of any such eyes
Born of joy or of sadness
I don’t really care
For I desire no extremes in life anymore
I long to follow the Middle Path-
Neither too much of happiness
Nor too much of sadness
Just the normal curve on the graph of life
For I know now through my own living
That nothing extreme yields peace of mind
And that happiness lies with the Middle Path
Thus, do spare me of teary eyes
