The innocent childhood weaved memories,
From spools of laughter and craziness.
I remember holding hands together,
Building sand castles on that street.
Exchanging glances, hiding feelings,
Walking up and down the street.
Both wanting to talk, but leaving,
Beautiful words unsaid, as we grew.
Your eyes spoke the unsaid words.
And my heart understood what was left unsaid.
Today, while walking down that street,
I realise it was nothing but pure love.
Today, trying to understand the silences,
Trying to understand the unspoken words,
I walk down that street with a warm smile,
Just knowing I was once loved immensely.
