Way Back Home
“Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Clark International Airport, our local time is 21:00 hours. In behalf of Emirates Airline Airlines and the entire crew, I’d like to thank you for joining us on this trip and we are looking forward to seeing you on board again in the near future. Have a good night stay!”, it was clearly said by the pilot.
Finally, i’m home!
My smile paints on my face and my heart starts to beat faster. I am so much excited to see my family again.
It was 4 long years since I started to work overseas. I have to stay healthy, I need to be strong to be able to finish the conteact that I signed. And this homecoming is such a big blessing. I have a lot of dreams and lot of short trips to be done within this vacation. I hope that I could stay with my family and friends and be able to enjoy every moment!
As I step my feet on the airport and walk around to check in and luggage, people are smiling at me and even if I didn’t know them, i smiled back at them! That was a friendly act of being a Filipino.
I saw an olderly carrying loads of bags and a group of three younger ladies offered help. They took the elders carriage and they walk together. I smiled, we are really Filipinos!
I started to look for a bus, so I can went home right away and yes! I was on time, the bus just arrived. Maybe because I was smiling so I see a lot of people smiling, what a beautiful scene, everyone is smiling!
I sat near the window so I can the view on my journey.
I see the vastness of green rice fields, the mountain afar, and sometimes the running clear water of the river below the bridge. Trees and leaves are swaying, dancing with the wind and birds are chirping, singing so loudly. Butterflies are flying, wow! They’re really beautiful as they fly through the bunches of colorful flowers along the way.
This is really Philippines, I finally feel at home! There’s no such things as beautiful as my own country, my dwelling place, the land of brave heroes and smiling Filipinos. I’ve been working too far but in my heart, I am still a Filipino in heart and in spirit, that wherever I go, I will always find my way back home.
