She is counting few last breath of her life in an ICU of a covid hospital. Relatives, friends, acquaintances, none are allowed to stand by her side. Only through video calling they are getting informed.
At this hour of death she knows well she has to die without having a physical presence of anybody. She is mentally prepared. All of a sudden, she finds Suyash, her digital friend in front of her.
They met each other through social media and for last five years they have been connected like needle and thread. From good morning message to good night wish, from general chat to very personal one, they are with each other every moment. They have done together so many social activities as covid volunteers. Just sharing a post and problem is solved. Both are dedicated to serve the world in hour of need.
What a great surprise for last one week he is not coming online and today he has come to visit her personally!
She has lot to ask but so many pipes on her body don’t allow her to speak verbally. She is happy to get him physically as they live in two different countries and never have visited to each other.
Wait! How has he come to my city when there is a restriction on air travelling due to Lockdown ?
“Who has allowed him to enter this highly restricted part of the hospital?
How is he sitting by my side without mask and PPE kit?”
He holds her hand without fear of getting affected. His kind gesture, silent observation and an adorable smile brings tears in her eyes. She rises from the bed and hugs him. Holding his hand, leaving behind her infected body to be packed in plastic bag and thrown inside an electric cremation furnace, she leaves the premise peacefully and happily.
