Amrita Mallik (Category-Poem) (Don’t put off till tomorrow | Certificate of Excellence)

A delayed work is a hurried one
Robbing you of future joy
Within a specific time you’d be done
Lest the disasters arrive in cloy!
Yet, this necessary evil you should often abide by
For a slow tortoise doesn’t have to sigh!

Discipline you may call it
But it steals your present bliss
Too much responsibility can make you quit
Those special moments you can often miss!
Life is about collecting moments as they come
One you lose, you become glum!

Well, dilly-dallying has benefits abound
Only if you can actively do it
Piled-up work need not get you drowned
A creative re-shuffling can keep you fit!
You can better manage delay and succeed in a greater way
What matters the most in the end is, you are gay!

Be like a little squirrel playfully collecting nuts
Or the ant, may be, humming a song while amassing food
In this one life, however, never be a klutz
Strive to strike the right balance for your own good.
A little delay does no harm
It, in fact, preserves the life’s charm!
